“Very correct blackcurrant and cassis fruit allied with cedary oak on both bouquet and palate, and supported by ripe tannins; there are also some savoury /oliveaceous notes. Rating 94.”
James Halliday 2011 Australian Wine Companion
Eden Hall 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon is rich crimson/ruby red coloured with aromas of cedar, spice, tobacco and black fruits. The wine is beautifully structured with a harmonious balance between the spicy oak and the ripples of ripe fruit. The waves of cassis and blackcurrants gradually yield to the fine, lingering tannins, suggesting another 3 -5 years of further development. Similar in so many ways to the magnificent 2005 Eden Hall Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2006 wine is rich in mouth feel and lengthy in palate weight. Drink it through 2020 and beyond.
