James Irvine has had over fifty-four years in the wine industry in both wine making and wine marketing. This rare combination enables him to look past the wine, to understand and yet intrigue consumers with superior stylistic wines that are an absolute joy to the consumer. While having wide experience of global wines, at superior premium levels, he has never tried to impose the European approach on the wines he makes. Rather he seeks to maintain the individuality of the particular vineyard and its regionality in bringing forth its strengths and rewards. As a consulting winemaker for the past twenty-four years he has built on his successful career with great numbers of awards and trophies for various proprietors. He has his own vineyards and wine company and has earnt world recognition for his Merlots. The Eden Hall vineyard offers great excitement in James being able to return to Shiraz and Riesling as well as the new varieties. In this he is joined by Joanne Irvine as the principal winemaker.
